Family Tracker for iPad App Reviews

If anyone have Apple Me installed and have used the "Find" feature on it, this software is not usefull at all. We need to accept the requested push "ping" to make it work and if the other person you want to locate do not accept it, you can not locate it. The alert does not work in iPad,and to make it work you need to be running the program. I have tested in iPhone too and in that it works ok.

This program doesnt work at all! I put in two different email addresses and I never received the consent email to make the program work. Dont waste your money.

It is not working the way it design for, even I register with my email account.

This does not work. Purchased for my iPad, then purchased it for four iPhones so we can all track and NOTHING. We tried over and over. The map does not show on the page. WASTE...Ive yet to see a seamless GPS for iPhones and now iPads...SAVE YOUR MONEY

Because if you dont, they dont allow you to do ANYTHING. I just wasted $7.99 because there is NO OPTION to go back and change it.

Took me $10 to find out it does not work. Never received the email on my .me account.

I loved what this promised, but the app does not deliver. I set this up and got an initial location from my wife, but after that, it never update or delivered the push notifications required to update location. Same problem when I installed it on my wifes iphone. Biggest waste of $8 Ive ever invested in an iPhone app. Do not buy this.

Payed 10$ for nothing

This app offers a good service for sure! HOWEVER, it is not clear that you have to buy it multiple times. Well, in order to use it, you have to purchase the app for every device you want to track. Im trying to get a refund and I didnt hear anything back from costumer service. I consider this a bad practice considering that it is useless if you dont have it installed in the other device.

Im 5 hours into trying to make this thing work and . . . nothing. I believe I have ruled out all other possible sources of the problem other than that this app simply does not work. This conclusion is further supported by the other people with problems with it. Save your money.

This app is severely buggy. Im blown away Apple decided to feature it. does Apple even test their products? Email verification usually doesnt work, halting the app. If you get past this stage, you discover you have to either buy it multiple times or have everyone you know using the same iTunes account and redownload. Its not in the app description (big surprise) that you basically have to pay multiple times. Misleading, buggy and bad. An awful app.

I like the app and it has some good features. I like that I can see all the iPhones/iPads Im tracking on the map at the same time. It works just like the developer says it does, and the tracking is accurate. Two problems I have with it. First, set up was a bit confusing. It worked best when you ask to track a device, and then from that device accept it. If you try to give permission to track from the device you want to track, it doesnt work. Once I got everything set up after three tries, it all worked fine. Secondly, tracking only works if you ping a device AND the person using that device accepts it. I would like to be able to track the device even if the notifications are ignored. I only hope that the app will be updated with the new iOS 4 to somehow take advantage of background processes to accomplish this. Overall its a great concept and a good implementation. Needs a few improvements for it to really shine.

Once you turn on this app it keeps the GPS running all the time, killing the battery. This bug needs fixing.

Does just what it stated. Ive been looking for something like this. Would be nice if the app saved the locations like geotagging

I hesitated purchasing this app because it forced tracked people to acknowledge whenever they were "pinged" -- which lowered the value in my opinion because it interrupts them. With OS4, however, no acknowledgement is required and it silently grabs the persons location! It took a little fiddling to get the phones and my iPad syncd up properly but once they were, this app really works great! This is a very handy app and well worth the price. Im sure teens wont think so if their parents use it to check up on them <grin>, but for my wife and I with our busy schedules, its a convenient way to locate each other without interrupting. My wife uses it to check where I am on my long commutes and I can find out when shes leading a meeting at one of the centers around town (I can never keep them straight). Some reviewers have mentioned a bug that causes the battery to drain quickly (my wifes phone has this problem). I asked the developer who responded immediately that a fix was submitted a week ago and should be available any day now.

This is a perfect app to not only track your family and friends, but also track down a lost iPhone! The best part is that the tracking is ALWAYS on (unless you turn it off on purpose). GREAT APP!!!!!

Its not a waste of money if you read the info before you buy it... Another thing is that if you want to track a few phones, be smart and use the same iTunes account in order to get it for free on the others phones, otherwise youll have to pay $5.99 for ea. phone...this application is really good to track your kids phone, or anyone else. You can change the settings if you dont want it to run on the background all the time...

Does not work! Waste of money. I want a refund. Apple should not allow this app!

I am dissapointed how the application froze on me and did not work at all . I tried to get my money back unsuccessful since I was told to contact apple and apple does not give refunds according to their policy. I found am application at the fraction of the price that works perfectly only $1.99 its called myfonehome I have used this app for a week and I havent had any problems

I have to say, this is a ok first try, but not something that can be used on a day to day basis. Even at its best setting, it will run your battery down in a couple of hours. When compared to mobile me (find your iPhone) it was anywhere from a few blocks off to several miles. (Mobile me was within 100 yds) Wish list for future versions. 1. Bread crumbs on maps 2. Schedule times to be active (I would really like to use an app like this to make sure my kid is on his way home from school at a set time each day) 3. Battery life!!!
